The Community Health Improvement Steering Committee comprised of public and private community partners and stakeholders met over a six month period to develop the 2023-2025 Brevard County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). The Steering Committee reached a consensus on the following five strategic issue areas:

  • Health Protection
  • Chronic Disease Prevention
  • Community Redevelopment and Partnerships
  • Access to Care
  • Health Finance and Infrastructure

These items are detailed in the CHIP and include goals, strategies and objectives for each. Based on the five strategic issue areas, the steering committee determined the following health issues to be community health priorities:

  • Access to Care (primary care and oral health)
  • Chronic Disease Prevention
  • Access to Behavioral Health Services
