Viera, Fla. The Florida Department of Health in Brevard County (DOH-Brevard) is still accepting applications to fill positions that will be used to address the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those hired will work with health department personnel to conduct viral testing, answer COVID hotline calls, screen individuals entering our clinics, and other activities addressing COVID-19.

The positions range from entry-level through mid-level positions. Qualifications are varied but include experience in a health-related field or work with communities on social service matters, social work or case management while others require little experience. These short-term positions are funded through December 31, 2020.

We are currently hiring registered nurses and paramedics at $25/hour, licensed practical nurses and emergency medical technicians at $22/hour, and senior clerks at $15/hour. Most positions are full-time, 40 hours / week positions, but we have flexibility for EMTs and paramedics to accommodate their current work schedule.
