The Florida Department Health in Brevard County (DOH-Brevard) provides wellness programs designed to improve the health of our community. We offer wellness services and programs which include:

Age-Friendly Public Health System

DOH-Brevard was selected to participate in the Florida Age-Friendly Public Health Learning Collaborative and Action Network and aims to identify and enhance the role of public health in improving the health and well-being of the older adults in our community.

Florida Health Babies

Florida’s Healthy Babies is an effort of the Department’s Health Equity Program Council, which focuses on helping all Floridians achieve health equity, or the highest level of health. Through this intiative, DOH-Brevard partnered with 3 local hospitals to carry out the Baby Steps to Baby Friendly project which enhances hospital maternity care practices that support and promote breastfeeding. In addition, safe sleep initiatives are promoted throughout all DOH-Brevard clinics.

Healthiest Weight

The Healthiest Weight Initiative was launched in 2013 in an effort to address the public health challenges facing the residents of Florida. DOH-Brevard supports these initiatives through a variety of activities and services to educate and inform the public on the benefits of making healthy choices.

Tobacco Free Florida

The Tobacco Free Florida Program seeks to help smokers quit, prevent youth from starting the use of tobacco and protect everyone from second-hand smoke.
