This is a photo of contraception examples.Confidential services are available to all women regardless of age or income at low or no cost. Services include education, physical exam, lab work, family-planning, counseling and the selected method of birth control. Our availability of contraceptive options may vary. If a selected method is not available at our clinic, a prescription may be provided.

Contraceptive Options include:

  • Abstinence - 100% Effective. Saying "NO" to sex until you're physically, emotionally and financially ready to be responsible for the outcome.
  • Condoms - Male - A thin shield is worn by the male on the penis. Female - A thin barrier worn inside the vagina with an outer shield around the vaginal opening. This is the only method that may protect against a sexually transmitted disease (STD). It is effective, but not 100%. To increase protection use a spermicidal foam, gel or film.
  • Depo-Provera - Injection which contains one synthetic hormone given every three months. It may be used while breastfeeding.
  • Diaphragm - A soft latex cup is filled with spermicide and inserted into the vagina covering the cervix. May be used while breastfeeding.
  • Intrauterine Device (IUD) - Liletta and ParaGard are available and inserted by a nurse practitioner or doctor.
  • Nexplanon - Hormonal implant inserted into upper arm by a nurse practitioner or doctor.
  • Oral Contraceptives - Pills which usually contain two forms of synthetic hormones which must be taken daily, on time, to prevent pregnancy. These may be used while breastfeeding.
  • Patch* - A patch, containing two hormones that are very similar to birth control pills, is absorbed through the skin into the blood stream. A new patch must be applied weekly. This may not be used while breastfeeding.
  • Permanent Sterilization - Tubal Ligation for women and Vasectomy (Regular and No-Scalpel Vasectomy) for men, if over the age of 21. Permanent and not reversible.Photo of a woman, man and baby.
  • Ring* - The vaginal ring contains two hormones that are similar to birth control pills. The ring is inserted into the vagina and is left there for three weeks. The hormones are slowly released into the bloodstream.
  • Spermicidal Foam/Gel/Vaginal Film - Contains Nonoxynol 9 that kills sperm. It is inserted into the vagina prior to having sex. Use with condoms. May be used while breastfeeding.

*These methods require a prescription to be taken to a pharmacy of your choice.
